Facilities & Amenities
The ball field is located at the end of Winnipesaukee Way. It is used for a wide variety of planned recreational activities and is available for pick up games as well. The nicely manicured ball field features a softball diamond and backstop.
Shoot hoops at our basketball court, located next to the Pavilion. Basketballs can be signed out with recreation staff or at the Depot.
With its four connecting bays, Ossipee Lake is the perfect place for guests to go pleasure-boating. Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort has a boat ramp on the property which provides easy in-and-out access. In addition to Ossipee Lake, popular Lake Winnipesaukee and Maine’s Sebago Lake are both short drives away. The state of New Hampshire requires safe boating certificates for all operators of power boats with greater than 25 horsepower. Please review our boating regulations. Danforth Bay does not allow jet-powered watercraft in the park.
The Depot has a well-stocked store, complete with a wide variety of gifts, RV supplies, toys, groceries, beverages, clothing, ice, firewood, ice cream and much more. Hours vary with each season. Spring & Fall: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Summer: 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily. Off-season hours are posted on front door of The Depot.
Danforth Bay offers its guests the unique opportunity to stay in one of its ten camping cabins and deluxe cottage. Three rustic cabins sit on the shore of Danforth Bay, and are extremely popular throughout the summer. Seven deluxe four-season cabins are located near the store and pool, and are great for summer and winter guests. The Deluxe Cottage is located on Main Street (E12) set atop a wooded hill. This private, yet centrally located cottage is available for 3 season camping!
Danforth Bay campers begin their visit by checking in at our main office at The Depot. There you'll find a full-service camp store with snacks, supplies and Danforth Bay gifts. Our laundry facility, game room and a family room are also found in this building, situated right next to the spacious heated swimming pools. An emergency phone and bulletin board can be found on the porch at the Depot. The late arrival box is located near the entrance to the store. Check the weatherboard for the latest forecast.
The Dog Park is located beyond the Depot on Shawtown Road. Park is available from dawn to dusk. Dog park rules are posted at park entrance. Please view our Pet Policy for additional guidelines for camping with pets.
Dump stations are conveniently located on Main Street opposite site# E3 and at the emergency exit gate.
Hours vary seasonally and correspond with the store hours. Midweek Spring, Fall and Off-season the Family Room is accessible with a code provided at check-in. In season, a daily family movie is shown on the big screen TV. The TV is available at other times for movies or cable television. Movies for use in the Family Room are available for sign out at the Depot office. Also in the Family Room is a bookshelf stocked with games, puzzles and a lending library.
Downstairs from the family room is our Game Room with arcade games, ping-pong and air hockey. Paddles for ping-pong can be signed out at the office. Balls are available from a dispenser in the game room for 25 cents.
Located next to the Merrymeeting bathhouse, this large recreation room holds several ping-pong tables and is often used for activities during inclement weather.
Located in the laundry is a coin changer and a vending machine with detergent and fabric softener. There are seven top load washers, seven large capacity front-loading washers and twelve dryers. An AED is located here.
With a beautiful view of Danforth Bay, the Pascoe Study is comfortably furnished and ready for adults to enjoy. Make yourself at home and relax in this lovely setting and help yourself to the lending library. Laptop users will find a cable LAN connection to our cable modem and a strong WiFi signal as well.
The Pavilion is a 3,000 square foot recreation room with stage and houses bath facilities for our guests. In season, this building is used for weekly entertainment, special events, teen activities, rainy day programs, and is conveniently located next to the Safari Field and basketball court.
There are 4 swingsets located around the resort and one large playground next to the Pavilion.
Danforth Bay has an on-site propane station for both tank refills and bulk propane purchases. In season, tanks are filled at 9 AM, 12:30 PM and 4 PM. Spring, Fall and off-season check with the office for current propane fill hours.
Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort sits along a ½ mile of shoreline and offers 2 sandy beaches for its guests to enjoy.
Open daily during the summer season, serving a variety of food, from burgers to sandwiches, fried dough and ice cream.
The archery range is located on the dirt road beyond the main entrance to The Bluffs. For use during scheduled activities or bring-your-own equipment.
When weather permits, arts and crafts take place below the Pascoe Study. Follow the path between the Lakeside building and the Merrymeeting bath house towards the lake.
An ATM is located in the Depot and available during store hours.
Boat rentals are available at the Brookside Beach. Boats include kayaks, canoes, row boats and paddleboards.
Expanded cable TV access is included and is available at each site. Due to the nature of advancing technology and changes, we can provide you an up-to-date basic channel guide at The Depot office. For our cabins, TV’s may be rented at the depot for $5 per day with a $75 damage deposit required at sign-out.
Fishing licenses allow the taking of all species from Danforth Bay, except Atlantic Salmon brood stock. A fishing license is required for people 16 years of age and over. Fishing licenses can be purchased online at www.nhfishandgame.com. Temporary 1-day fishing licenses are available to both NH state residents and non-residents. Also available to non-residents only are 3-day and 7-day licenses; intended dates for use will be requested at the time of purchase and the dates must be consecutive. Annual fishing licenses for residents ($45) and non-residents ($63) can also be purchased online. Worms and fishing gear can be purchased in the Depot store.
Rental golf carts are available during the Spring/Fall (non-holidays) for $55/day and during the summer for $70/day or $385/week. Advance rental reservations, during the summer season, are limited to week long reservations, Sat. to Sat. Shorter rentals may be booked at check-in based on availability for the daily rate. Full day rental pick-up: 9 AM and return: 8 AM next day. PLEASE NOTE: Only licensed drivers 21 or older are allowed to operate rental carts.
Campers at Danforth Bay enjoy exploring different sections within the park or foot or by bicycle. The 185-acre Danforth Bay section and 200+ acre Bluffs section offer miles of dirt roads among the campsites and beaches that may be enjoyed at a brisk exercise pace or as a leisurely walk with a cup of coffee.
For the more adventurous, Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort abuts the Freedom Town Forest. This 2,660 acre forest is the largest piece of undeveloped land in Freedom and connects to other conservation land to form a contiguous 5,000 acres of forestland. Two nearby access points feature a small parking area and kiosk with maps.
Our kiddie pool is roughly 20’ x 30’, ranging in depth from 12” to 18” and offers a two-lane slide for youngsters.
Snowmobile Maps are available for purchase at the Depot Store.
There are 3 tennis courts, all located beyond the Depot on Shawtown Road. The courts are available from dawn to dusk. Racquets and balls can be signed out at The Depot.

WiFi is offered as a free service for recreational use to our guests with hotspots throughout the park. Due to the hilly, wooded nature of the resort, it is impossible to transmit a signal to the entire park. While we cannot guarantee your site will have a wireless signal, we do have a number of locations where you can “plug-in” for a much faster solid connection. The Pascoe Study and Depot lounge have LAN access points.
