Spring 2008 Weekends

May 2 - 4: Opening Weekend
Join us as we begin the 2008 camping season with arts and crafts, fun and games, and our annual Polar Bear swim for those looking for a thrill!

May 9 - 11: Mother’s Day Celebration
Celebrate Mom by making her a special gift at arts and crafts and spend some quality time together on a Mt. Mary family hike.  Free coffee and flowers for Moms at the Depot on Sunday.

May 16  - 18: Pet’s Weekend
A great weekend for families and for the family pet.  Join us for our Best-in-Show pageant that includes animal agility tests, tail wagging event and a fancy trick show.  Include your pet in all the family fun.

May 23 - 26: Memorial Day Weekend
Join us for three days of good old American fun with patriotic tie-dye t-shirts, a family softball game, arts and crafts, wagon rides and more.  The pool’s open and heated for swimming; plus live entertainment!

May 30 – June 1:  Spring Getaway  
Enjoy great spring weather and take advantage of all that Danforth Bay has to offer. With comfortable temperatures, it’s the perfect time to gather round the campfire and toast marshmallows with family and friends.

June 6 - 8: Outdoor Adventure Weekend
Come enjoy the lakes, mountains and forest while our staff helps you learn a new skill, or master an old one.

SUMMER 2008 WEEKS

June 14 - 20: Father’s Day / Race Week
Free coffee for Dads at the Depot on Father’s day.  Exciting Pinewood Derby racing with a Dads-only heat.  Bring your car from home or use one from our fleet. Bring your “secret” recipe for our “chowda” cook-off.

June 21 – 27: Photography Week
Get some hints from our local photography expert to help you capture your favorite camping memories.  Join in our photo contest and the winners will have their pictures displayed in the Depot and on our web site. You will have lots of opportunities to take pictures of your family while they participate in all the fun activities for the week. 

June 28 – July 4: 4th of July Celebration
Celebrate the 4th of July with our 6th annual parade, wagon rides, patriotic arts and crafts, tie-dye t-shirts, live entertainment, swimming and boating, and much more family fun. Check out the local fireworks!

July 5 – 11: Pirate Week
Come to “arhhhhh” outdoor pirate movie, search for hidden treasure, and participate in swashbuckling water games.

July 12 - 18:  Wild West Week
Bring your boots and spurs and get “saddled” up for a taste of the Wild West. Complete with chuck wagon chili contest, wagon rides, archery and activities all week long.

July 19 - 25: Transportation Week
Join us for a week of experiencing different ways to get around.  Stay tuned for details!

July 26 - August 1: Carnival Week
We’re having a mini-carnival with the giant slip ‘n slide, bouncy house, and carnival games.  Join in the “side show” and decorate your site!

August 2 - 8: Super Hero Week
Challenge yourself in our Danforth Bay style Triathlon. Bring your favorite costume and participate in the Super Hero Olympics.

August 9 - 15: Outdoor Adventure Week
Take advantage of our awesome lakeside location- We’ll offer kayaking lessons, canoe/kayak trips, and beach games.  Hike Mt. Mary, try our 5th annual Mt. Mary Challenge, or join us for a history filled walk through the old Shawtown Village. 

August 16 - 22: Exciting Science and Nature Week
Explore the world of Danforth Bay and how it relates to science and nature.  Participate in cool science crafts or blast off your own model rocket.

August 23 - 28: Last Blast
Come join us as summer comes to an end.  We’ll be offering our favorite activities and pulling out all the stops for the last week of summer.  Lots of fun activities including great live entertainment. 

August 29 - September 1: Labor Day Weekend
Spend the long weekend making the most of summer.  We’ll have live entertainment, an outdoor drive-in movie, giant slip ‘n slide, and more.

FALL 2008 WEEKENDS

September 5 – 7: Scrap Booking Weekend
Vendors and workshops highlight this weekend dedicated to scrapbook enthusiasts or the novice looking to get started.  This is a great way to get caught up on those projects or make a dent in a new one. Bring your friends and photos and get started!

September 12 - 14: Artisan’s Craft Show Weekend
Join us as local Artisans converge at the campground for a craft show with variety of locally made products.  Contact the campground for availability if you are interested in participating in the show

September 19 - 21: Firefighter’s Appreciation Weekend
Come be a part of our 4th annual event to celebrate firefighters.  Complete with firefighter’s Muster, site-decorating contest, it’s a weekend filled with the spirit and camaraderie firefighters are known for.

September 26 - 28: TBA. 

Fryeburg Fair (Sept. 28 - Oct. 5) "Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic," is northern New England's largest Agricultural Fair and is just 1/2 hour away.

October 3 - 5: Fall Foliage Weekend
This weekend will be a great time to see the beginnings of the fall foliage.  Take in the sights on a hike up Mt. Mary, on a canoe/kayak trip on Danforth Bay, or on a scenic drive through the nearby mountains.

October 10 –13: Columbus Day Weekend/ Early Halloween
Our annual Halloween party is always a huge hit!  We’ve got resort-wide trick-or-treating, a costume competition, site-decorating contest, and live entertainment!  And don’t miss our great local fairs!

New Hampshire's Sandwich Fair (Oct. 11 - 13) features games, rides, and lots of family activities

October 17 - 19:  4th Annual RV Show / Pumpkin Patch Weekend
Come check out the latest in campers and park models on display by local dealers. Join us for a pumpkin carving party.  Bring your own pumpkin or buy one from us.  On Saturday night, we’ll light up all the jack-o-lanterns and award prizes. 

October 24 - 26: Winter Prep / Closing Weekend
Find out about our winter camping opportunities, skiing and snowboarding at nearby King Pine, and learn how to winterize your RV. Reserve your winter seasonal site and leave your camper on a site now before snow flies.
