SPRING 2010 WEEKENDS


May 7-9: Opening Weekend / Mother's Day
Join us as we begin the 2010 camping season with arts and crafts, fun and games, and our annual Polar Bear swim for those looking for a thrill!

May 14-16: Mother's Appreciation Weekend
Moms can celebrate with a little pampering from our specialists; have your nails done, perhaps a pedicure or a chair massage. Kids and dads can celebrate Mom by making her a special gift at arts and crafts and spend some quality time together on a Mt. Mary family hike. Free coffee and flowers for Moms at the Depot on Sunday.

May 21-23: Pet’s Weekend
A great weekend for families and for the family pet. Join us for our Best-in-Show pageant that includes animal agility tests, tail wagging event and a fancy trick show. Include your pet in all the family fun.

May 28-31: Memorial Day Weekend
Join us for three days of good old American fun with patriotic tie-dye t-shirts, a family softball game, arts and crafts, wagon rides and more. The pool’s open and heated for swimming; plus live entertainment!

June 4-6: Yard Sale Weekend
Bring your treasures to sell or find your treasure here, you never know what you might find!

June 11-13: Baseball Weekend
Spend the weekend enjoying a host of baseball related activities sure to please every baseball enthusiast. Try your luck at our dunk tank, or see how many miles per hour your fastest pitch is.


SUMMER 2010 WEEKS


June 19-25: Father’s Day / Race Week
Kick off the summer season with our famous DB pool party on Sunday. Exciting Pinewood Derby racing with a Dads-only heat. Bring your car from home or use one from our fleet. Sunday join us for a pancake breakfast - Dad’s eat free!

June 26-July 2: Pirate Week
Come to “arrrgh” outdoor pirate movie, search for hidden treasure, and participate in swashbuckling water games.

July 3-9: 4th of July Celebration
Celebrate the 4th of July with our 10th annual parade, wagon rides, patriotic arts and crafts, tie-dye t-shirts, live entertainment, swimming and boating, and much more family fun. Check out the local fireworks!

July 10-16: Olympics Week
Challenge yourself in our Danforth Bay style Triathlon. Bring your favorite costume and participate in the Super Hero Olympics.

July 17-23: Water Week
It’s all about water this week with Canoe and Kayak games and trips. We will have pool games, and much more. You can participate in our famous cannonball contest or just watch the splash!

July 24-30: Christmas in July
What could be more fun than Christmas in summer? Bring your decorations for the site-decorating contest, and plan for the usual holiday frivolity. There may even be a Santa sighting!

July 31- August 6: Hawaiian Week
Aloha! This week calls for Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts. Join us for a bonfire beach party, sand castle making and live entertainment.

August 7-13: Danforth Bay's Got Talent
Everyone loves the popular TV show, well here’s your chance to get in on the action. We’ll put on our own contest using our Karaoke technology.

August 14-20: Wild West Week
Bring your boots and spurs and get “saddled” up for a taste of the Wild West. Complete with chuck wagon chili contest, wagon rides, archery and activities all week long.

August 21-27: Outdoor Adventure Week
Take advantage of our awesome lakeside location- We’ll offer kayaking lessons, canoe/kayak trips, and beach games. Hike Mt. Mary, try our 6th annual Mt. Mary Challenge, or join us for a history filled walk through the old Shawtown Village.

August 28-September 2: Last Blast Week
Come join us as summer comes to an end. We’ll be offering our favorite activities and pulling out all the stops for the last week of summer. You’ll enjoy lots of fun activities including great live entertainment.

September 3-6: Labor Day Weekend
Spend the long weekend making the most of summer. We’ll have live entertainment, an outdoor drive-in movie, and a weekend full of great activities.


FALL 2010 WEEKENDS


September 10-12: Scrapbooking Weekend
Vendors and workshops highlight this weekend dedicated to scrapbook enthusiasts or the novice looking to get started. This is a great way to get caught up on those projects or make a dent in a new one. Bring your friends and photos and get started!

September 17-19: Football Weekend
Early autumn is the time to think Football. We’ll have a football skills contest, a #1 fan and more.

September 24-26: Firefighters’ Appreciation Weekend
Come be a part of our 6th annual event to celebrate firefighters. Complete with firefighter’s Muster, site-decorating contest, it’s a weekend filled with the spirit and camaraderie firefighters are known for.

October 1-3: Fall Foliage Weekend
This weekend will be a great time to see the beginnings of the fall foliage. Take in the sights on a hike up Mt. Mary, on a canoe/kayak trip on Danforth Bay, or on a scenic drive through the nearby mountains.

Fryeburg Fair (Oct. 3-10, 2010) "Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic," is northern New England's largest Agricultural Fair and is just 1/2 hour away.

New Hampshire's Sandwich Fair (Oct. 9-11, 2010) features games, rides, and lots of family activities

October 8-11: Columbus Day Weekend / Early Halloween
Our annual Halloween party is always a huge hit! We’ve got resort-wide trick-or-treating, a costume competition, site-decorating contest, and live entertainment! And don’t miss our great local fairs! Our heated pools will close following this weekend.

October 15-17: 6th Annual RV Show / Pumpkin Patch Weekend
Come check out the latest in campers and park models on display by local dealers. Join us for a pumpkin carving party. Bring your own pumpkin or buy one from us. On Saturday night, we’ll light up all the jack-o-lanterns and award prizes.

October 22-24: Take a Hike Weekend
We’ll do a hike right from the campground or use DBCR as your base to hike the many local hills and mountains.

October 29-31: Trick or Treat Weekend
Why not come and be among the hearty campers that enjoy this transitional time of year. We’ll have trick or treating on Saturday night too.
